Confidence.

  • We all have strengths.

    Knowing our strengths can help us reach our goals more efficiently and effectively, perform at our best, and feel connected to what we are good at.

    Learning about and applying our strengths can be a helpful way to build confidence.

    You can take the VIA Character Strengths Survey to learn more about your strengths.

  • Are there changes you could make that may help you feel more confident in relationships, at work, or within yourself?

    For example, learning a new skill or committing to a routine?

    Goals can help us move in the direction of desired change. Specific goals with a detailed plan can set us up for success.

  • Exercise, nutrition, and sleep form a necessary foundation of good habits, but it can be useful to assess other habits. For example, how we commonly talk to ourselves or how often we engage in practices that can support our wellbeing, like mindfulness.

    It is possible to break unhelpful habit cycles and build new, healthy habits.

Empowerment.

  • To help enhance a sense of empowerment, we could consider applying our strengths to environments where they can flourish.

    Strengths can be limited or developed by environment; we may aim to apply them where they have an opportunity to grow.

  • Learning new skills can help us feel empowered.

    For example, skills such as: emotion regulation, assertive communication, public speaking, social, or leadership skills could help us feel like we can initiate positive change, take action, or participate well in certain environments.

  • Empowerment is not only for our wellbeing, but for the wellbeing of others. Community involvement can help us and others feel empowered.

    We may consider how we can get involved with our communities. How might our involvement inspire, motivate, or instill hope in those around us?
